When National Health Insurance cannot be used
Overview
National Health Insurance does not cover conditions that are not illnesses or injuries: health checks, group screenings, vaccinations, orthodontics, normal childbirth, prenatal checkups, abortion for economic reasons and cosmetic surgery. It cannot be used when another insurance must pay, for example for work-related illness or injury, or an injury on the way to work. Treatment after a crime, a deliberate act, a fight or drunkenness is not covered, nor is treatment when you do not follow a doctor's or insurer's instructions.
