Automated phone system for National Health Insurance

Overview

The National Health Insurance Qualification Section of Itabashi Ward has an automated phone system for general questions, such as joining or leaving National Health Insurance. Callers hear voice guidance and choose the number for their question. Depending on the choice, the system answers by voice, sends a text message with the link to the web page or e-application, or transfers the call to a staff member. It gives general information only: cases that need an individual judgement are not handled. Transfers can be delayed when lines are busy, so call again later if needed.
