Refund of National Health Insurance premiums paid in excess
Overview
Premiums paid twice, or overpaid after a reduction, are refunded. Direct debit payers receive the refund automatically in the registered account. Payers by slip or pension receive a refund notice and a claim form; fill it in, sign it and return it in the enclosed envelope. The transfer comes about a month after the form is checked. Claims lapse two years after the notice date, and a refund can be offset against overdue premiums instead. Beware of refund scams.
