Lost insurance certificate: can it be suspended?
Overview
A lost national health insurance certificate (shikaku kakunin-sho) cannot be suspended. Unlike a credit card, it has no suspension for loss or theft. If it is lost or stolen, report it to the police right away. To get a new certificate, go to the Itabashi ward office or a district office. They also reissue the certificate notice (shikaku jōhō tsūchisho) and the elderly recipient certificate (kōrei jukyūsha-shō).
