Joining National Health Insurance after leaving a family member's social insurance
Overview
If you leave a family member's social insurance as a dependant and do not join another health plan, you must join National Health Insurance. File within 14 days of the change. Bring the certificate that you left the workplace plan, photo ID, and My Number documents for the household head and everyone joining. Premiums are normally paid by direct debit, so bring your bank card, passbook and registered seal. Filings are accepted at the ward office or a resident office, and some can be mailed or filed online.
