Co-payment rate for members aged 70 to 74

Overview

Members of National Health Insurance aged 70 to 74 pay 20 or 30 per cent of their medical costs at the counter, depending on household income. The rate applies from the month after the 70th birthday. Each year, usually in summer, a new certificate or older-person certificate is mailed, and the rate is reviewed based on the household's resident tax. Members can apply for the 20 per cent rate under an income test; a late application starts the reduction from the following month. The rate changes when household members or income change.
