Recipient certificates for mental health and TB care

Guide Health and vaccinesTopic: Disability
  • People with disabilities

Overview

Two recipient certificates mean National Health Insurance pays the usual share you would otherwise pay for outpatient care. The mental outpatient certificate is for people in mental outpatient care under the disability medical support system, when all insured people in the household are exempt from resident tax; it covers the usual 10% share. The tuberculosis certificate is for people under the infectious disease law who are exempt from resident tax (for under 18s, the household head); it covers the usual 5% share. Neither covers hospital stays.
