Mass renewal of National Health Insurance certificates

Overview

Once a year the ward renews the National Health Insurance certificates of all members and mails them to the head of each household. What arrives depends on whether the household members have a My Number card registered for health insurance: an insurance information notice, or a certificate of eligibility. The old documents stay valid until the new ones take effect, and expired ones should be shredded or returned. If nothing arrives after the expected time, call the Qualification Section. Foreign residents whose residence status has changed must renew at the ward office.
