Emergency medical aid stations
Overview
After a major disaster with many injured people, the ward opens emergency medical aid stations in the grounds of designated disaster hospitals. For the first 72 hours, the stations sort the injured by urgency and treat people with minor injuries. Injured people may still be taken there for life-saving care such as stopping bleeding. This replaces the earlier set-up, with medical aid at evacuation centres. The ward holds medical aid drills with hospitals and medical associations. Residents are encouraged to learn first aid.
