Child allowance status report by post: what to do
Overview
This page is for people who received the child allowance status report notice marked as postal procedure. Each year the ward checks, as of 1 August, the situation of children and households receiving child allowance, so that payments can continue from November. Everyone entitled must submit the report, including those whose allowance is fully suspended because of income. Fill it in as of 1 August, using the example on the page, and send it by the deadline of 31 August each year, or hand it in at the counter.
Why you receive this notice
Each year the ward checks the situation of recipients as of 1 August, to confirm that they still meet the conditions for payments from November. Everyone entitled must submit the report, including those whose allowance is fully suspended because of income.
Deadline and where to submit
- Deadline: 31 August each year; if it is a weekend or holiday, the previous working day
- Counter: North Building 1st floor, counter 6, or Akatsuka branch resident services counter
- By post: use the reply envelope enclosed with the notice
Without the report, payments stop from November. If there is no submission for two years, the right to the allowance expires.
Common questions
- Late submission: still reviewed, but payments stay suspended until the review is complete.
- Tax returns: file with the tax section of the ward where you were registered on 1 January. For Itabashi, North Building 3rd floor, counter 12, 03-3579-2101.
- Dependants living at the same address must also file tax returns.
