Overview
Suginami Ward helps households in financial hardship with part of the cost of buying and installing an air conditioner, to prevent heatstroke. The new application period has closed. Households that already received a grant decision notice can still file a claim, online or by post, from 1 June 2026 to 31 January 2027 (postmarks valid). The subsidy is up to 100,000 yen for a purchase from a shop in the ward, and up to 80,000 yen from elsewhere. One unit per household.

How to apply
- Buy and install the air conditioner after receiving the grant decision notice.
