Rapid safety check of damaged buildings
Overview
After a major earthquake, trained volunteer inspectors check damaged buildings as quickly as possible to prevent collapse or falling parts during aftershocks. Each checked building gets a sticker: green means it can be used, yellow means enter with care, and red means do not enter. Rapid checks cover mainly detached houses and apartment blocks in the ward. The page also explains the damage-level check, which needs a specialist and costs a fee, and the damage certificate needed for support and tax relief.
