My wardsEarthquake-activated breaker installation support
Overview
The ward pays for simple earthquake-activated breakers. They cut the power when an earthquake of seismic intensity 5 upper or stronger shakes the house, which helps prevent electrical fires after a quake. Residents who live in Suginami or own a house there can apply. Households of people aged 65 and over, households with a disability certificate, households registered in the community helper network and households in areas with fire-risk rank 4 or 5 pay no installation fee. A contractor installs the device on the switchboard after the application is approved.
