Overview

This guide explains how food waste can be turned into compost, which suits flowers and vegetables, by mixing it with soil or rice bran. It names two methods: a compost container, and a cardboard box or planter. It also explains the two kinds of household food waste processors, dry and bio, and says the ward does not subsidise their purchase. A parent-and-child compost class for primary pupils is announced in the ward newsletter.
