Home appliance recycling: the four appliances
Overview
The ward does not collect four kinds of home appliance: air conditioners, televisions, refrigerators and freezers, and washing machines and clothes dryers. Under the home appliance recycling law, you pay a recycling fee and a collection fee when you dispose of them. There are three ways: ask the shop that sold or replaces the appliance to take it back, apply to the home appliance recycling reception centre by phone or online, or carry it yourself to a designated collection site with a recycling ticket bought at a post office. Fees differ by maker and size.
